Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosted the fifth round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Romania.
The Romania delegation was headed by the State Secretary (Deputy Minister) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dănuţ-Sebastian Neculaescu.
The sides reportedly discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation within Uzbekistan-EU format, taking into account the Romania's Presidency of the Council of the EU starting from January 1, 2019.
The sides spoke in favor of strengthening and further developing the Uzbek-Romanian ties in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, establishing and encouraging direct contacts between the businessesand travel agencies of the two countries.
The meeting underscored the mutual interest in launching a new interaction mechanism - the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, whose regular meetings will endeavor to promptly respond to the market situation and resolve emerging issues, expand the range of trade turnover.
