By the decision of the Chilonzor district mayor Davron Khidoyatov, the metal fence around the building of the mayor’s office was dismantled on Tuesday.
The dismantling of the fence may be regarded as a "symbolic good riddance from an invisible barrier between the people and state bodies and increasing openness in their activities," the mayor’s office noted.
It is planned that the territory near the building will turn into a public recreation zone.
Earlier, the Tashkent authorities dismantled fences around the buildings of the central office of the Uzbek Defense Ministry, the Tashkent Military District and the Air Defense and the Air Force Command, the State Museum of the Armed Forces and some other government buildings
