Poverty in Uzbekistan fell from 5.8% to 3.6% in January-September 2026, the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment said in a report.

The number of poverty-free mahallas, or neighborhood communities, rose from 1,435 to 3,627, the report said. Some 581,000 services aimed at raising incomes were provided to 429,000 families in the Social Register, and 440,000 families whose incomes rose were removed from it.

In the nine months, 824,000 people were placed in permanent jobs. Income-raising assistance reached 4.1 million people, and the informal employment of 980,000 people was formalized, according to the report.

Of 59,200 graduates of vocational training programs, nearly 45,000 found jobs. Through the voucher system, nearly 130,000 people received vouchers, and more than 43,000 of 56,500 graduates were placed in jobs, the ministry said.

Through the Online Mahalla platform, 7,730 subsidy applications and 8,835 loan applications were approved. That produced 64.1 billion soums in subsidies, up 58.4% from last year, and 79.8 billion soums in loans, up 31.4%, the report said.
