In the first half of 2025, the average monthly gross salary in Uzbekistan amounted to 5.98 million soums. This is 17.2% more than in the same period last year, the National Statistics Committee said in a report.
Taking into account year-on-year inflation (8.7%), the real growth rate of wages was 8.5%. For comparison: in the first half of 2024, gross wages grew by 17.7% (with inflation at 10.6%), in 2023 - by 22.1% (9%), in 2022 - by 19.6% (12.2%).
The highest average salary was recorded in Tashkent, where it increased from 8.45 million to 10.1 million soums over the year, adding 18.8% (versus 20.2% in January-June 2024).
The lowest gross average wages are in Kashkadarya province - 4.25 million soums (an increase of 16.1% against 13.6%).
The highest rate of wage growth was recorde in the arts, entertainment and recreation - by 20.7%, in education - by 18.3%, in ITs - by 17%, in the transport and logistics - by 16%, in manufacturing - by 15.4%.
The highest average salary is still in the financial sector (banking, insurance, leasing, credit and intermediary activities: 16.25 million soums (+13.9%)). It is followed by IT and communications - 14.79 million soums.
Low growth was noted in the field of accommodation and food services (+4.5%) and construction (+6.1%).
The lowest average monthly salary remains in the healthcare sector — an increase to 3.7 million soums (+12.4% versus 14.6%) and education — to 4.14 million soums (+18.1% versus 15%).
The growth rate of teachers’ salaries accelerated, for the first time in many years being higher than the national average (17.2%), but for physicians — it slowed down sharply.
