At the Culture and Sports Ministry of Uzbekistan were held a meeting dedicated to the Uzbekistan’s sports results in 2016.
In 2016,the Uzbek athletes partcipated in 248 international tournaments winning a total of 836 medals - 302 gold, 270 silver and 264 bronze medals.
At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Uzbek athletes participated in 16 disciplines and won 13 Olympic medals (4 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze). This result was the best result ever in the history of our country. The XV Paralympic Games were even more fruitful with the country having won 31 medals.
