Neftchi and Pakhtakor learned their opponents in the AFC Champions League Elite after the draw ceremony at the Asian Football Confederation's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
This year's competition has been expanded from 24 to 32 teams, with each club playing eight matches in the league phase — four at home and four away.
Neftchi are set to host Al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia), Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia), Air Force Club (Iraq) and will traver for away matches against Esteghlal (Iran), Al-Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Al-Qadsiah (Saudi Arabia) and Tractor (Iran).
While, Pakhtakor will be hosting Esteghlal (Iran), Al-Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Tractor (Iran) and Al-Qadsiah (Saudi Arabia) and will fly overseas for Al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia), Air Force Club (Iraq), Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia) matches.
