The Tashkent-based Lokomotiv seals Uzbekistan Professional League title with one match still to play. After matchday 28 the “railways” team had 68 points, ahead of Bunyodkor who were second with 62 points. But after Bunyodkor was held by Navbakhor 1: 1 in matchday 29 they even lost mathematical chances of winning the title.
On November 18 Andrei Miklyaev’s team in the status of champions stunned Metallurg - 4: 1, following which was held the trophy awarding ceremony.
Lokomotiv was founded in 2002, the club has three times been the runner-up of Uzbekistan League and once won the Cup and the Super Cup of Uzbekistan.
