MrBeast left Uzbekistan on Sunday, cutting short his first visit to Central Asia after a crowd surge at Samarkand’s Registan Square forced security teams to evacuate him a day earlier.

Thousands of fans, many of them underage, flooded the square on Saturday after word of his appearance spread on Telegram, according to accounts of the trip. The crowd overwhelmed perimeter barriers as people pushed toward the YouTube creator and a red Lamborghini. Security teams and local police formed a human shield around him to get him out of the crush, and he was rushed to the airport, with fans reportedly chasing his vehicle along the highway.

He posted an Instagram story saying, “Feeling the love while filming in Uzbekistan.”

Reports had suggested he would also tour Bukhara and Khiva, but he left early over safety concerns about the crowds. The Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan (ACDF) said his production crew stayed behind and will continue to Bukhara and Khiva to film architectural and cultural footage for the upcoming YouTube video.

Events in Tashkent on Friday were more tightly controlled. MrBeast landed at Tashkent International Airport, where fans greeted him, and a fan zone opened near the Center for Contemporary Art. Streets around Amir Temur Square were closed because of heavy traffic. At an interactive game and quiz session, attended by 200 winners over 18 chosen by computer draw, he reportedly awarded 100 million soums to each of three participants, 300 million in all, or about $23,500.
