A father and his two sons drowned on September 2 in the Charvak reservoir in Tashkent province, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement today in the morning.
According to the ministry, the three had been riding a boat and decided to swim in an unauthorized area without wearing life jackets.
Ministry divers are searching a 2 to 2.5-kilometer radius around the presumed site of the incident, with all necessary personnel and equipment deployed.
The reservoir's depth is complicating the search effort, the ministry said.
Charvak has been the site of fatal accidents before, including previous collisions between motorboats and catamarans.
