The Tashkent Metro is undertaking extensive preparations to handle an expected rise in passenger traffic with the start of the new academic year, aiming to ensure a convenient, safe and high-quality service, the metro's official channel has announced.
According to the announcement, train intervals will be shortened across all lines during peak hours. Specifically, intervals will be reduced to 1.5–2 minutes on the Chilonzor line, 3 minutes on the Uzbekistan line, 4 minutes on the Yunusobod line, and 7–8 minutes on the above-ground Circle Line.
The metro also plans to add 14 new modern train sets to its fleet over the course of 2026. Eleven of these have already been delivered, with three more expected to arrive in the coming days.
To further improve service quality, ensure safety at stations, and manage passenger flow more effectively, a duty-officer system has been introduced at all 50 metro stations during peak hours.
