Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Pakistan on the sidelines of a regional council.
The latest meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers took place in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, in attendance.
“Today, we participated in the regular meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Cholpon-Ata. As part of our preparations for the upcoming SCO Summit, we discussed the organization's core priorities, the further development of multilateral cooperation, and the expansion of economic, transport, and logistics ties. We also addressed pressing issues regarding regional security and sustainable growth. The meeting concluded with the signing of several key documents,” the Uzbek Foreign Minister shared on his Telegram channel.
On the sidelines of the council, Bakhtiyor Saidov held separate bilateral talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
According to Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister, the meetings provided a platform to exchange views on bilateral agendas alongside urgent regional and international issues.
