Uzbekistan generated 7 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green energy during the first seven months of 2026, marking a 23 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Energy's press service.
To date, the country has commissioned 21 green power plants with a combined capacity of 5,602 megawatts (MW). This infrastructure includes 15 solar power plants (3,930 MW) and 6 wind farms (1,672 MW).
This aggressive expansion is reflected in the steady rise of green energy production over recent years:
- 2022: 434 million kWh
- 2023: 576.9 million kWh
- 2024: 4.9 billion kWh
- 2025: 10.5 billion kWh
- January–July 2026: 7 billion kWh
Over the past four years up to the present day in 2026, Uzbekistan has generated a total of more than 23.4 billion kWh of renewable energy. This clean output has successfully saved approximately 6.24 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented roughly 13.46 million tons of harmful emissions from entering the atmosphere.
For the full year of 2026, Uzbekistan aims to conserve a total of 4.3 billion kWh of electricity and 2.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas through the continued expansion of renewable energy systems. Looking further ahead, the country plans to have green energy account for more than 50 percent of its total power generation mix by 2030.
