On March 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Measures to improve governance in the field of increasing energy efficiency and developing the market for energy service companies Decree, the Ministry of Justice said.
The Decree has created the National Energy Efficiency Agency which will be aiming at implementing the national policies in the field of increasing energy efficiency, as well as the development, regulation and implementation of incentive measures in this area.
From July 1, 2025, the Agency will begin to provide subsidies to cover part of the public's expenses for energy audits of residential buildings, as well as the installation of energy-efficient equipment.
In particular, subsidies will cover up to 20% of the cost of solar panels and solar collectors (water heaters), as well as up to 40% of the cost of heat pumps (air, water and geothermal) - but not more than an amount equivalent to 50 times the base calculation unit (18.75 million soums).
Before October 1, it is planned to introduce "green" standards for energy-efficient technologies for manufacturers and importers.
At a government meeting on March 26, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to install modern energy-saving installations and reduce energy losses, primarily at large industrial enterprises.
