Due to Samarkand city hosting the maiden Central Asia-EU Summit on April 3-5, access roads to the city will be closed, the press service of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Diversion routes will be set up for transit vehicles.

Drivers will be provided QR codes, through which they can find out how to get to their destination from a mobile app.

The Ministry urged drivers to "strictly comply with the established requirements and rules."

Fellow countryment and guests of the country planning a visit to Samarkand on the specified days are requested to postpone their trip to another time.

It is also reported that the streets of Ibn Sino, Afrosiab, Dakhbed, Bustonsaroy, University Square, Namozgoh, Sadriddin Aini, Shabod, Zhurakulov, Registan, Beruni and Mirzo Ulugbek will be closed to traffic from time to time.

In addition, students of some universities in the city were offered short-term vacations from April 1 to 5.
