Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze Wednesday, the presidential press service said.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Georgia PM conveyed greetings and best wishes from Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The parties reportedly considered the ways to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of trade and economics, investment, transport and logistics, tourism and culture.

They commended the intensification of contacts at the parliamentary and governmental levels. In 2024, the two-way trade increased by 50 percent year-on-year, while the number of joint ventures and the volume of cargo turnover increased. Direct flights are being operated between the capitals of the two countries. A Georgian-invested digital bank is operating in Uzbekistan. Also, the Days of Uzbek Culture and Cinema were successfully held in Tbilisi last year.

The parties highly valued the outcomes of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, which was held recently in Tashkent.

"They pointed to the importance of taking coordinated measures to maintain the upward trend in the trade, ensure the balance of exports and imports, promote industrial cooperation projects, effectively use the transport and transit potential, as well as actively involve the territories of the two countries in economic cooperation.

In order to implement the agreements reached, they agreed to closely cooperate in the future at the level of the governments.
