The National Agency for Promising Projects (NAPP) and the Tax Committee announced the blocking of the Chinese Temu marketplace in Uzbekistan.

The decision was made in accordance with the Cabinet’s December 26, 2024 Resolution, according to which only legal entities - residents of Uzbekistan can be operators of electronic trading platforms.

Reportedly, a number of foreign platforms violate the regulations in the areas of e-commerce, retail, advertising, protection of personal data and consumer rights.

In this regard, the use of the Temu platform will be limited from March 20. Individuals are advised not to place orders on Temu from today, and to cancel existing orders and request a refund.

The NAPP and the Tax Committee called on residents of Uzbekistan not to use the services of foreign platforms that have not localized their activities in the country or are not registered in the list of the Tax Committee. Citizens are also advised not to transfer their personal data to such platforms.
