Today, the president Mirziyoyev hosted the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi. At the beginning of the meeting, the minister conveyed to Shavkat Mirziyoyev the warm greetings and a letter from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
The discussions focused on further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade, economic, and investment-financial partnerships.
They commended the growing activity between governments and business relations. The volume of bilateral trade, the number of joint ventures, and the regular business events with the participation of leading companies from both nations are all increasing.
They also focused on expanding the portfolio of the Uzbekistan-Oman Investment Company with new cooperative projects.
The next meeting of the intergovernmental commission and a joint business forum will take place in April this year.
In addition, they underscored importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and establishing direct air traffic.
They also discussed regional agenda, including preparations for the second "Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council" summit in Samarkand this May.
