Companies from the Republic of Korea will develop a feasibility study (FS) for the project of a new Tashkent-Samarkand high-speed railway, the press service of the Ministry of Transport said.

The development of the feasibility study is in pursuance of the October 10, 2023 presidential decree.

The feasibility study will be developed by a consortium of Korean companies, which includes Saman Engineering, Dong Myeong Engineering Consultants & Architecture Co., Korea Railroad Corporation and Korea National Railway. The project is financed by grant funds from the Eximbank of Korea.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev unveiled plans to build new Tashkent-Samarkand and Samarkand-Navoi-Bukhara railway routes for high-speed trains in September last year.
