President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has accepted the invitation of the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and will pay an official visit to Malaysia on February 4-5, the presidential press service said.
Along with talks with the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur, Shavkat Mirziyoyev is scheduled to meet with top managers of major Malaysian companies, attend joint Business Forum and other events.
The parties will discuss the ways to deepen the Uzbek-Malaysian ties in trade, investment, innovation, technological cooperation, petrochemicals, electronics, green energy, smart agriculture, tourism and others.
The high level talks will culminate in the signing of a joint statement and a package of agreements aimed at developing a full-scale partnership between the two countries.
A meeting of think tanks and research institutions took place in Malaysia ahead of the visit. In the coming days, presentations of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and cultural heritage, a forum of rectors of leading universities of the two countries and other events are scheduled.
