First season of participatory budgeting under Open Budget program will commence on February 1, 2024, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance said.
Individuals will be able to submit their initiatives until February 20. The project selection will take place from February 21 to March 7, followed by a campaign period from March 8 to 10, and voting will take place from March 11 to 20. The awarded projects will be announced on March 21.
From 10 to 30 projects will be supported in each district or city.
If the number of bids exceeds 10, the distribution of budget funds will be proportional to the population of respective city, district.
The threshold for one project is 1.5 billion soums. Thus, the total amount of funds allocated for participatory budgeting will to 15 to 45 billion soums from local budgets.
