President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin Thursday, the presidential press service said.
The parties discussed the bilateral agenda and multilateral cooperation within the framework of regional organizations.
The two leaders reportedly emphasized the importance of continuing close and productive cooperation between the special services of the two countries in order to enhance the fight against security challenges and threats.
The press service of the Russian president reported that the telephone conversation was initiated by the Uzbek leader.
“The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed sincere condolences in connection with the death of the chief of the Chemical, Radiation And Biological Defense Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his aide Ilya Polikarpov. he was emphasized that Uzbekistan strongly condemned this vile terrorist act,” the Kremlin noted.
The Presidents emphasized their intention to continue close cooperation between the special services of the two countries in the field of countering terrorism.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Vladimir Putin on the successful holding of the "direct line" and the year-end press conference.
