On December 16, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Uzbekistan hosted the celebration event of the Great Victory Day at the country's Embassy in Tashkent.
The event was attended by the diplomatic staff, rectors of universities, professors, researchers, students and media representatives.
At the event, the Ambassador of Bangladesh, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam addressed the audience with the remembrance speech of the sacrifice of more than 3 million martyrs who bravely and relentlessly fought for freedom, dignity, justice, and sovereignty, consolidating the identity of a resilient nation, whose sacrifice shall not be forgotten.
The celebration marks the end of 9-month long War of Independence in 1971.
The Ambassador also respectfully remembered all the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement, the mass uprising, and the supreme sacrifices of the students in Bangladesh in July-August 2024 that have opened up new possibilities before the country.
