Traffic accident involving Uzbek nationals occurred today at 5:10 a.m. on the 209th km of the Saransk-Surskoye-Ulyanovsk federal highway in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan said.
According to the regional branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the driver of GM Cobalt lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a MAZ heavy truck moving in the opposite direction.
Reportedly, five people in the car died in the accident, the driver of the truck was taken to a medical ward.
“This situation has been taken under the control of the Consulate General, steps are being taken to coordinate with the authorized bodies, and measures are being taken to send the bodies of the deceased to their homeland,” the statement said.
