President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the of a tourist center project in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent province, the presidential press service said.
Azerbaijani businessman Emin Agalarov and a number of other large investment companies expressed their readiness to erect Sea Breeze Uzbekistan international tourist center on the shore of Charvak reservoir.
According to the project, the center will host recreation areas, beaches, sports grounds, hotels, cottages and residential complexes. It is also planned to open stores under international brands, restaurants and service points, and will feature festivals, concerts and cultural events will be held here. For the convenience, it is planned to build a bridge across the bay.
The president supported this proposal, noting the need for the design and phased construction of the center based on advanced international experience. He gave instructions to create a commission headed by the prime minister and develop a legal framework for the implementation of the project, as well as assist in resolving infrastructure issues.
In an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, Emin Agalarov called the project with a potential of "5-7 million square meters" (500-700 hectares). According to him, the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan will also include schools, a water park, recreation parks, and complexes for water and winter sports.
" Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that he is aware of the successful functioning of the Sea Breeze project in Azerbaijan. We have experience in launching this project," he underscored.
Sea Breeze is a premium seaside resort and coastal complex on an area of 500 hectares, founded by Emin Agalarov in 2006. The resort city is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, half an hour's drive from the center of Baku.
Emin Agalarov is the son of Russian businessman Araz Agalarov and the former son-in-law of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. On April 30, 2006, he married the president's eldest daughter Leyla Aliyeva and divorced in 2015. He is also known in the music world as Emin.
Agalarov Development announced the construction of a residential complex and hotel in the center of Tashkent in late August. The project is estimated to cost $133 million.
