The Interim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and  President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev in a phone conversation on Wednesday confirmed their interest in successful completion of delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border, UzA said. 

In a conversation initiated by the Kyrgyz side, the two leaders have agreed to "maintain and promote bilateral relations at various levels with a view to further strengthen the multifaceted and long-term relationships for the benefit of the two brotherly people, in order to ensure stability and security in our region," the agency statement said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Almazbek Atambaev highlighted "the current positive trend in several key areas."

The Presidents noted that the reciprocal meetings of the representative delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the cities of Andijan and Osh were an important step towards strengthening the centuries-old traditional ties of friendship and good-neighborliness, mutual trust and respect between the two people.

They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
