On October 9-10, Uzbekistan government delegation headed by the President’s Afghanistan Envoy, Ismatilla Ergashev and the CEO of Uzbekneftgaz Bahadir Siddikov visited Afghanistan.

As part of the visit, a meeting and negotiations took place with the leadership and officials of the caretaker government of Afghanistan.

The Envoy Ismatilla Ergashev held talks with the Afghan Vice-premier Abdul Ghani Barodar, Minister of Mining and Al Haj Mullah Hidayatullah Badri and other officials at the government press center.

In his remarks, Ismatulla Ergashev presented the initiatives of the President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev connect Afghanistan in the process of economic integration.

They also focused on trading at the Termiz international trade center, which was opened on August 29, 2024 on the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan border. After the launch of this center, thousands of Afghans visited the center for various goods, with 15-day visa free for the territory of the center now valid. At the end of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan event, an agreement was signed on the development of the Tuti-Maidan gas field in Jauzjan and Faryab regions of Afghanistan.
