Humanitarian aid was sent to Kyrgyzstan on behalf of the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev, addressed to residents of the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan affected by the flood, Dunyo news agencysaid today.

Massive flood occurred in the Osh and Batken regions due to heavy rains on June 28, as a result of which more than 10 people died, including children, with many villages demolished, and more than 1,300 people evacuated.

The humanitarian cargo was delivered to the Kyzyl-Kiya border checkpoint in the Batken region. The handing over ceremony was attended by First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan Sanzhar Zuparov, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Osh Zafarbek Akhmedov, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Akilbek Mazaripov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Osh region Ilyaz Tashbaev and other officials.

Humanitarian aid was handed over to the administration of the Nookat district of Osh region. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, the 95 tons of humanitarian cargo included flour, vegetable oil, sugar, other food products and goods.
