Mother of two girls, 28, fell from the 5th floor of her house’s building and died on the evening of March 27 in Dalvarzin neighbourhood in Bekabad district of Tashkent province, the spokesman to the General Prosecutor's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov.
The district prosecutor, an investigator from the district prosecutor's office, the chief of the police department and an operational search group arrived at the scene. A forensic medical examination has been ordered.
On March 30, Kun.uz published details about the situation. According to the publication, the woman was regularly subjected to moral pressure and physical violence from her husband. The women's relatives believe that he is to blame for her death.
Witnesses to the incident told the publication that before the fall the woman shouted: “I don’t want to live, I’m tired of your beatings.”
The woman was issued a protective order three times, the last time on March 6. It prohibited contact between the rapist and the victim, as well as their being together in the same house.
The anti-violence project Nemolchi.uz reported on April 1 that during 9 years of marriage, the ex-spouses lived together for only 3 years.
The girls, 6 and 2 years old, were with their grandparents on the day of the tragedy. The deceased lady also lived there, but a few days before her death her husband took her.
