Project of a Radisson hotel, which is set to be erected on the site of the former building of the National Security Service in Tashkent, is estimated at $100 million. This follows from the government resolution on measures to implement the investment program of Uzbekistan for the first quarter of 2024.

Earlier in June 2021, the Metropol Group, whose founder is Daniyar Kamilov, the son of the former Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, bought the former NSS building in Tashkent for 210 billion soums, US$ 20 million.

In March 2023, it became known that the Radisson Hotel Group had signed an agreement with the Metropol Group to open a premium hotel, the Radisson Collection Hotel Tashkent.

The hotel is scheduled to open in 2026. The project will be the first Radisson Collection hotel in Central Asia. The hotel on about 130 thousand sq. m will include four buildings, “made in the same architectural style.” They will house public spaces, shopping areas, a cinema, offices, apartments, multi-level underground parking, conference rooms and meeting rooms.

The main and tallest building of the complex will house the Radisson Collection Hotel Tashkent. It will be a 22-story building and have 860 rooms, designed in a classical style, with an area of more than 27 thousand square meters. m. The hotel will have 164 rooms, including presidential suites and apartments.

Let us remind you that the former building of the National Security Service (formerly the KGB), privatized by the Metropol Group, began to be demolished in July 2023. The building was built in the 1950s. At first there was the Central City Clinic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, then the KGB of the Uzbek SSR was located, then the National Security Service. In 2018, the NSS was transformed into the State Security Service and moved to a new location.

As previously reported, Azerbaijani Pasha Holding plans to build a five-star Ritz-Carlton hotel in Tashkent. The project is estimated at $200 million.
