As part of the Uzbekistan-Iraq Investment and Business Forum which kicked off in Tashkent, Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov met with Iraqi Minister of Trade Azir Dawood Salman Al-Gurairi.

The parties explored ways to expand the bilateral ties in the agricultural sector and discussed launching joint projects in the agricultural sector and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation. In particular, they focused on exports of agricultural and food items from Uzbekistan to the Iraqi market, as well as the exchange of experience between the two countries.

Reportedly, in the meeting were present by officials of the two countries, business leaders, and delegates of about 150 Iraqi companies. The parties also discussed issues of studying soil composition, implementing Uzbek experience in growing grain and legumes in Iraq, and organizing a working visit of a group of Uzbek experts to Iraq for this purpose.

This investment and business forum is the second in the history of Uzbek-Iraqi business ties, with the first held in December 2025 in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
