Aluminum beverage cans production unit will be built in the Navoi province. The investment volume will amount to $100 million, the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade said.

The relevant investment agreement was signed on October 15 at the MIPT with the Russian company Arnest Packaging Solutions (APS). This company owns four aluminum can production units and the only aluminum lid production plant in Russia.

The new plant will be located at the Navoi Industrial Development Complex special industrial park.

The plant's capacity will exceed 1.5 billion cans per year. It is expected that more than 200 new jobs will be created at the plant. The launch of production is planned for the fall of 2025. The production of aluminum beverage packaging is a new technology for Uzbekistan, the department said in a statement. More than 30% of the manufactured products are planned to be exported.

"The project will also be another example of cooperation, when the government of Uzbekistan creates not only favorable conditions for investment in the form of a preferential tax regime and subsidies, but also physically develops the infrastructure, offering a foreign investor a ready-made production site that fully meets the technical requirements of a particular production," said Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Khurram Teshabaev.

APS’s CEO Alexander Isaev emphasized that localizing production in Uzbekistan will strengthen the company's position in the export markets of the EAEU, Central Asia and Transcaucasia.

This is the company's first enterprise outside the Russian Federation, Vedomosti said, citing a representative of the manufacturer.

In August 2023, the Arnest group of companies, the largest Russian manufacturer of cosmetics, household goods and metal packaging, which owns AUR, bought 100% of the Russian business of the Heineken brewing company for one euro. A week ago, Arnest also bought the Russian and Belarusian assets of Unilever.
