Uzbekistan became the third largest investor in Kazakhstan, ousting China by the number of registered companies, Data Hub said. As of May 1, there are 4,595 Uzbek-invested companies in Kazakhstan. This is an increase by 706 companies year-to-date. While, Chinese companies, which previously held the third position, increased their presence by only 204 enterprises.
Most Uzbek companies in Kazakhstan are small enterprises, with only two exceptions. Approximately one-third of these companies are trade firms.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Azerbaijan entered the top 10 countries with registered and operating companies in Kazakhstan. As of April 1 this year, 1,434 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Kazakhstan, alongside 217 companies with joint ownership, Kazakhstan's Bureau of National Statistics reported.
