Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted the Government delegation of Afghanistan, which included the Senior Adviser to the President for economic affairs Houmayoun Qayumi and the Special Representative of the President for development of cooperation with CIS and Russia Mohammed Shakir Korgan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

President of Uzbekistan yesterday signed a decree creating two new posts of deputy prime ministers to the Cabinet of Ministers, thus, raising the number of vice-premiers from six to eight (including the first deputy PM), a source in the government said.

The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Prosecutor General Ikhtiyor Abdullayev will visit Russia from November 29 to 30. During the visit, the Uzbekistan delegation will attend the 15th meeting of the Prosecutor General of the SCO member states and the 27th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states, which will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

For the first time in history Uzbekistan and Afghanistan launch a direct passenger flight, a source in the government said. According to the source, on Wednesday at about 9:00 AM the first direct flight from Kabul, operated by the Afghan carrier Kam Air under a code-sharing agreement, will land in Tashkent. However the source didn’t elaborate on the flight frequency.
