On April 14, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Ann Linde, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit, the presidential press service said.
The parties meeting discussed topical issues of developing constructive interaction between Uzbekistan and the OSCE, further expanding the Uzbek-Swedish practical cooperation. They also exchanged views on the regional and international agenda.
the President reportedly touched upon the main axes for deepening the multifaceted partnership with the OSCE, primarily in the framework of preparation for holding important domestic political events. They expressed interest in continuing a fruitful dialogue with the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Parliamentary Assembly of the organization.
An agreement was reached to organize a number of joint events in the near future.
Referring to the prospects for bilateral ties with Sweden, the President of Uzbekistan singled out cooperation in the field of education, attracting innovations and investments of leading Swedish companies to Uzbekistan, and building up trade and cooperation ties as key areas.
The parties expressed confidence that the establishment of an Uzbek diplomatic mission in Sweden would allow realizing the existing potential and wide opportunities for interaction both between countries and with the Scandinavian states in general.
