Samarkand Airport will be closed for flights for technical reasons from 00:01 on November 8 to 00:01 on November 12. A message about this appeared on Wednesday in the international notice for aviation personnel Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM), according to the AviaAlertsUZ Telegram channel.
Samarkand will host the Turkic Summit on November 11, which will be the first summit of the organization transformed in place of the Turkic Council in November 2021.
Meetings of the Ministers of Economy and Foreign Affairs will be held on the eve of the Summit and the government heads’ meeting.
The members of the organization are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan (since 2019). Hungary and Turkmenistan have observer status.
Earlier, the Samarkand airport was closed for commercial passenger and cargo flights from September 14 to 16 due to the holding of the SCO Summit.
