The Foreign Minister, Vladimir Norov, who is visiting Dushanbe, met with Teri Khakala, the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia.
The parties discussed the ways to further strengthen and develop of cooperation with the European Union in investment, trade, science and education, ecology, tourism and other fields.
They also exchanged views on the organizational aspects of events planned at various levels and formats, including the "EU-Central Asia" ministerial meeting in Samarkand on November 17-18, 2022, and the international conference on interdependence entitled: Global Gateway for Sustainable Development.
The sides also focused on the expansion of trade and economic cooperation. In January-September 2022, the volume of the two-way trade with the EU countries topped US$ 3.13 billion, recording an increase of 14.8% compared to the same period last year. And also discussed proposals for activation of economic diplomacy and implementation of investment projects.
