Group of Uzbek students studying at the Kursk State Medical University in Russia circulated a video message to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on social networks.
According to them, since the Kursk region borders with the Sumy region of Ukraine, the effect of the “special operation” is also felt in the area where the students study.
“Shells have been hitting Tyotkino every day. Even worse, the Kursk nuclear power plant, which is located 30 km from us, has already been attacked three times (about three terrorist attacks allegedly committed at the Kursk nuclear power plant by Ukrainian special services, Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier),” said one of the students.
He added that in neighboring Belgorod, most of the population was evacuated, and education was switched over to online.
In addition, the student mentioned that in March, “when the situation was still stable”, Kazakhstan returned its students to study at home.
“Dear Shavkat Mirziyoyev, we ask you to transfer our studies to medical universities in Uzbekistan,” the students urged.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported on Tuesday evening that diplomats from the Uzbek embassy in Russia left for the Kursk region "to study the situation and solve existing problems."
“We will report on the results additionally,” the Foreign Ministry said.
