Uzbekistan ranked third in the CIS in terms of permanent population. As of January 1, 2022, the number of permanent residents in Uzbekistan stood at 35.3 million people, the State Statistics Committee said.
Reportedly, as of January 1, 2022, the percentage share of the permanent population in the CIS countries was the highest in Russia - 51.3 %.
Russia was followed by Ukraine and Uzbekistan with 14.6 and 11.9 % respectively.
The other following countries are:
- Kazakhstan – 6.5 %;
- Azerbaijan - 3.5 %;
- Belarus R. - 3.3 %;
- Tajikistan - 3.2 %;
- Kyrgyzstan – 2.3 %;
- Turkmenistan - 1.5 %;
- Armenia – 1.0 %;
- Moldova - 0.9 %.
