Deputy PM/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khojaev met with the visiting Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Botir Atdaev.

The parties reviewed the possibility of holding the next 17th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan joint commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation before the year-end.

Also, the parties expressed mutual readiness to adopt a set of necessary measures to increase the volume of mutual trade to 2 billion dollars in the near future.

An agreement was reached on the significant increase of the number of joint projects in the field of production of ready-made garments, pharmaceuticals, construction, and agricultural products in the territory of the two countries. The counterparts expressed mutual interest in launching the production of light vehicles and agricultural machineries, and in the joint establishment of the production of household appliances in Turkmenistan.

The sides explored the possibilities of expanding transport and logistics relations, measures to promote cargo transit in the territory of both countries, organization of cargo transportation along international transport corridors using the capabilities of sea ports.
