On August 30, the President’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum, who is ending his posting to Uzbekistan.
According to the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting the parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and the United States on Afghanistan, in particular, the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
Reportedly, the high-ranking diplomat highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
Daniel Rosenblum commended the successful holding of the Tashkent International Conference on Afghanistan on July 25-26, 2022.
He emphasized that this forum had become an important platform for stepping up international efforts to ensure stability not only in Afghanistan, but also in the region as a whole.
