MP of the Legislative Chamber at the regular plenary session on August 29 approved the candidacy of Aziz Voitov for the position of Minister of Agriculture, the Chamber’s press service reported.

Since March 2020, he has served as First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade.

Aziz Voitov, 42, graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute with a major in Taxes and Taxation (2001) and the Higher Business School under the Academy of Public Administration under the President with a degree in Business Management (2010).

He began his career in 2000 at the Interbank Settlement Center of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity (NBU). In 2004-2017, he worked in various positions within the main department of the National Bank of Uzbekistan. Since December 2017, he headed Uzpromstroybank.

The posioton of Minister of Agriculture has remained vacant since the moment Jamshid Khodjaev, who headed the ministry since 2019, was approved for the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade role.
