The President’s draft of the Approval of International Treaty was announced. The Treaty between the government of Uzbekistan and the government of Azerbaijan on international road traffic, signed in Tashkent was approved on June 21, 2022.
The Ministry of Transport is designated as the competent body responsible for the implementation of the international agreement.
The signing of the draft will result in:
- strengthening of economic relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, international transportation of passengers and goods by car and development of transit through the territories of the parties will be achieved;
- after the agreement takes effect, the competent authorities of the party states will annually exchange a mutually agreed number of permit forms for the international transportation of goods on the basis of equality;
- transportation of passengers and goods by car between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will be facilitated, between the territories of the two countries, in transit from their territories, and cargo transportation from third countries/countries will be carried out on the basis of permits issued by the competent authorities of these countries.
