On August 15, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to the President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the telephone, the Uzbek presidency website said.

Reportedly, the counterparts discussed the ways to further enhance the Uzbek-Turkish ties of a comprehensive strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation. They valued the high dynamics of contacts and fruitful exchanges in accordance with the agreements at the highest level.

Touching upon regional aspects, the two leaders expressed their deep satisfaction in connection with the successful holding of the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Transport of Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan, held in early August in Tashkent and emphasized the importance of further development of practical cooperation in this format.

The parties also exchanged views on issues of cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures, including the Organization of Turkic States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev especially noted the high organization of the fifth Islamic Solidarity Games, which are taking place these days in the Turkish city of Konya.
