Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khojaev hosted the U.S. Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum on Wednesday.

The parties discussed prospects for deepening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. They noted that in the first half of 2022 the two-way trade increased by 31% to reach US$ 247.5 million. Specific measures have been set to expedite trade relations and expand the nomenclature of import-export operations.

The sides touched upon the possibilities of development of investment cooperation and industrial cooperation. Over the past few years, the number of U.S.-invested enterprises in Uzbekistan has doubled to 315. Mutual interest was expressed in expanding the economic participation of U.S. companies in Uzbekistan. For this, the parties planned to combine opportunities to attract leading U.S. companies and financial organizations to the implementation of joint projects in the territory of the country.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development within the framework of the development of "green" energy, agriculture and youth entrepreneurship, to step up cooperation with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation in the implementation of various projects in promising fields.

Daniel Rosenblum reiterated the commitment of the United States to continue supporting Uzbekistan in the process of joining the World Trade Organization.
