Kazakh air carriers are working to increase the number of flights to Uzbekistan and China, the inbusiness.kz business review said. Executives of Air Astana, Qazaq Air and SCAT spoke about this at an online conference moderated by Deputy Head of the Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee Saltanat Tompiyeva. They also reported on the restoration of regular flights with other countries.

Now flights from Kazakhstan are operated to 115 cities in 28 countries, including Uzbekistan. In the first half of the year, the country's airlines carried 1.2 million passengers to international destinations, a 60% increase over the same period in 2021.

At the same time, carriers are asking the government for support in expanding the geography of flights. Now they are working on organizing new routes to the cities of Uzbekistan and China, as well as launching air links with Pakistan.

Airlines note a high demand for these destinations, but the lack of permits from other states makes it difficult to satisfy it. The limited supply is already affecting ticket prices.

The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan has already sent several proposals to increase the number of flights to its Chinese counterparts. A request to open new routes and flights has also been sent to Uzaviatsia, the Kazakh side is now waiting for a response, Saltanova said.

“In the near future, we will again turn to the aviation authorities of China, Uzbekistan and Pakistan for the prompt study of the existing issues,” Saltanova added.
