Chairman of the Supreme Court Kozimjon Komilov left his post. It is expected that Presidential Advisor Bakhtiyor Islamov is being considered for his place, and the Senate must approve it.

Kozimjon Komilov, 65, who had been in charge of the highest judiciary body since 2017, was re-elected by the Senate to the post of head of the Supreme Court for another five-year term in June.

Meanwhile, the president proposed Kozimjon Komilov for the vacant post of judge of the Constitutional Court.
