Today, the Acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov hosted the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the Foreign Ministry said.
Reportedly, the High Commissioner commended the national policies aimed at ensuring interethnic harmony and tolerance, as well as to expand cultural and educational ties with foreign countries.
He especially noted that the policy course of good neighborliness of Uzbekistan in Central Asia played a positive role in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples and ethnic groups of the region.
Kairat Abdrakhmanov stressed that Uzbekistan had created all the necessary conditions for education, work, the relaisation of creative abilities and the potential of representatives of all ethnic groups. He welcomed that strengthening the atmosphere of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance in society is one of the priority goals for the implementation of the New Uzbekistan’s Development Strategy for 2022-2026.
The parties expressed their readiness for the progressive development of mutually beneficial relations on all issues of mutual interest.
