Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Tashkent, the Russian embassy in Tashkent said. At the airport, the Russian minister was welcomed by the Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov.
As part of the two-day visit of the Russian foreign minister, he will attend meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO, hold talks with the leadership of Uzbekistan, as well as a number of bilateral meetings.
Sergei Lavrov will be in Tashkent on July 28-29.
In turn, a meeting of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is planned to discuss the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the SCO member states, as well as topical issues on the international agenda.
