Lieutenant General Abdusalom Azizov, chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, attended the conference of special services of the Turkic states.

According to Kabar, the XXIV meeting of the conference of special services of Turkic states was held in Cholponota, Issyk-Kul region under the chairmanship of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.

Leaders and representatives of special services of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as delegations of special services of Russia and Hungary attended the meeting as observers.

At the meeting, current issues of mutual cooperation of special services in the field of ensuring security and stability in Turkic countries were discussed in the current situation in the zones of terrorist activity in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

The participants of the conference agreed on the mechanisms of mutual cooperation and reaction to terrorist threats arising from the territory of armed conflicts in Afghanistan and Syria and related to the spread of terrorism and extremism.

In the framework of this meeting, a meeting of the President of Kyrgyzstan with the heads of the special services of the Turkic states was held. In his address to the participants of the meeting, Japarov emphasized the importance of close cooperation and uniting the efforts of special services in joint work against external threats and challenges affecting the interests of Turkish states.

Also, the participants of the meeting exchanged opinions on the open dialogue and the reports heard, at the end of which a decision was made to take measures to implement the agreements reached.

The conference of special services of Turkic states was established in 1998. Its main task is to fight against organized crime of an international nature and to ensure effective cooperation in other agreed areas of activity of special services.
