President’s Envoy for Foreign Policies Abdulaziz Kamilov answered the question on the possible recognition of the Afghan caretaker government by the international community during the international conference on Afghanistan, held in Tashkent today.
“Today, the matter was not on the table. But I think that the trend is positive, primarily in terms of normalizing relations with the government. That is, it is the normalization of relations that will pave the way for further recognition,” said Abdulaziz Kamilov.
“Many issues related to recognition were discussed today. The head of the Afghan delegation [Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi) said bluntly: I wrote down all the questions, and even the claims that were made here, which I will discuss with our leadership,” he said.
“And, of course, we will try to find a common ground. This is already a big step in terms of strengthening mutual trust, without which there can be no recognition,” the diplomat assured.
